Putting together your temp resume is just as important as putting together a resume for full-time, regular employment. Achievements in Temporary Work
Just because you make a living as a temporary employee, it does not mean that you have not achieved goals in your career. These goals can be completing a major project for a bonus, receiving an award from your temporary employer or being recognized within your industry by your peers. Make sure you list any awards, recognitions, and other achievements on your temporary employment resume so potential employers see what you have to offer their organization.
If you are not using social media, then it is high time you got with the times. Social media can be a blessing when it comes to finding a job, especially for temporary workers. Companies are posting open jobs on sites such as Google+, LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter. Join these sites and start following companies that you know hire temporary workers.
Check with them frequently for new job postings. Aside from this, you should add your social profile to your temporary employment resume. This includes listing your usernames or profile names for all of your social media accounts. This makes it easier for potential employers to find you online after you apply for a job. If you do this, be sure that your accounts have been cleaned up, are appropriate, and have fresh content posted on them.
List Your References
For the most part, it is common practice to list at least three references on a resume. This is the same when talking about a temp employment resume. You should try to never list less than three references and no more than five. You need to pick the three most influential people from your career or education and make sure that they know they are on your resume.
IMPORTANT: Let the references know they could be contacted by companies asking about you. If a company tells you they will be contacting your references on a certain day, give your references a heads-up immediately. Before putting anyone’s name down on your resume, think about how they would describe you to a potential employer. If you have any doubts; do not list that person as a reference.
